You write so well, Jake, as much about the big things as the little. The questions about what we're doing and why we're doing it are endlessly interesting. Here's another thought about how we deal with them on a long quest: sometimes we can just observe the feelings, without settling on an answer to the question? Take care of Rosie.
I think you might be right… the bigger the question, the further away the answer can feel. Sometimes you can be happy letting it slip over the horizon!
Jake.... I think from here on you'll always be Rosie to me! 😉
Motivation is fundamental to understanding HOW we can encourage others TO DO the things they NEED to do but don't always WANT to do - same is true for purselves, family, friends or in business
Look forward to hearing more about you in the here and now of your current adventure xxx
Great piece, Jake-Meister-General! A lot of the BG work we do is about really understanding human motivation. Check out the COM-B model! But equally great to hear about Rosie… you learn something new, every blog!! XX
Wonderful post Jake, and good to hear you delving into these awkward insights, which many people do not even scratch the surface of, and finishing with a wise conclusion. And from my point of view - you are an absolute legend xx

Keep on going Jake. Spin class is my new quest, but it just doesn't compare..even at my age!.
And the beauty is, it doesn’t have to compare! It’s a wonderful quest, Julia… I’m sure you’ll smash it! 😉

You’re totally right, Jane! And I’ll happily adopt the moniker… Rosie was a true force.

I’ll check that out! You’re totally right though… and I guess a lot of life is about that same understanding!
When I was reading Jake's thoughts on motivation, I thought; "He's like Andrew!"
Now that’s a compliment!
